Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bulky AI (“Bulky AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Bulky AI mobile application (the “App”). Bulky AI is operated from Türkiye.
We built Bulky AI to be a simple, motivating way to track calories, protein, weight, and hydration. We try to collect only what the App needs to do that. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for the App is:
- Bulky AI (operated from Türkiye)
- Contact: [email protected]
2. Information we collect
a. Account information
When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects and processes your email address, your name (if you provide one or if it is shared by Apple or Google sign-in), and a unique account identifier. If you sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email, in which case we receive an Apple private relay address. We do not receive or store your social-login password.
b. Profile and health-related information you provide
During onboarding and in the App you provide information used to calculate and track your nutrition goals, including:
- Gender
- Height
- Current weight and goal weight
- Activity level and gym experience
- Your chosen bulking pace / goal type
- Daily calorie, protein, carbohydrate, fat, and water goals
Some of this is health-related information. We use it only to operate features you ask for (calculating your targets and showing your progress). We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it.
c. Activity you log in the App
- Meals — meal name, calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, and (where available) fiber, sugar, and sodium, plus whether the entry was added manually, chosen from our food catalog, or estimated by AI.
- Weight logs — weight values and the dates you record them.
- Water logs — daily hydration amounts.
- Streaks and timezone — a streak counter, the date of your last activity, and your device’s timezone (used to bucket your day correctly).
d. Camera and food photos
The App includes a “Scan” feature that uses your device camera to photograph a meal so it can be analyzed and logged. The camera is only accessed after you grant permission, and only when you open the scanner. Where AI meal analysis is enabled, the photo is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to estimate the food and its nutrition; the estimate is returned to you for review and editing before it is saved. We do not use your photos for advertising and we do not sell them. (See Section 4 for AI details.)
e. Subscription and purchase information
Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) and managed through RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. We do receive and store subscription-related data such as your subscription status (trial, active, cancelled, expired), product identifier, and renewal/expiration dates, linked to your account identifier.
f. Information we do not collect
To be clear about the current version of the App:
- We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. The App does not show ads.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not integrate with Apple Health / Google Fit.
- We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we use your information
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Create and secure your account | Email, name, account identifier |
| Calculate your personalized daily nutrition targets | Gender, height, weights, activity level, gym experience, goal type |
| Log and display your meals, weight, water, streaks, and progress | Activity you log, timezone |
| Estimate nutrition from a meal photo (when you use Scan) | The photo you capture |
| Provide and manage your subscription and free trial | Account identifier, subscription status and dates |
| Respond to support requests | Email and any information you include |
| Keep the App working, secure, and free of abuse | Account identifier and relevant usage data |
4. AI processing
Bulky AI uses OpenAI as an AI service provider for two purposes:
- Goal calculation. During onboarding, your profile attributes (gender, height, current and goal weight, activity level, gym experience, and goal type) are sent to OpenAI to help compute your recommended daily targets.
- Meal photo analysis (Scan). When you use the photo scanner and AI analysis is enabled, the meal photo you capture is sent to OpenAI to estimate the food and its nutrition. The result is shown to you to review and edit before saving.
We send only the data needed for these features. We do not send OpenAI your email, name, or full health history for these requests. OpenAI processes this data on our behalf to return a result. Through our API use, OpenAI states that it does not use data submitted via its API to train its models by default. AI-generated nutrition values are estimates only and may be inaccurate — see the disclaimer in our Terms of Service.
5. How your information is stored and shared
Your account and activity data are stored on our backend provider, Convex. We share information only with the service providers (“processors” / “sub-processors”) that make the App work, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us. We do not sell your personal information.
| Provider | Role | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication / login | Email, name, account identifier |
| Convex | Backend database & sync (stores your data) | Profile, meals, weight, water, subscription status |
| OpenAI | AI goal calculation & meal photo analysis | Profile attributes; meal photos (when you scan) |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Account identifier, purchase & subscription events |
| Apple (App Store) | Payment processing & sign-in | Purchase transactions; Apple sign-in identifiers |
| Google sign-in (if you choose it) | Email, name, sign-in identifier |
We may also share information:
- To comply with the law — if required by a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or us.
- In a business transfer — if the App or its assets are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, subject to this Policy.
6. International data transfers
We operate from Türkiye, and our service providers (including Clerk, Convex, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google) may store and process your data in the United States, the European Union, or other countries. These countries may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
7. Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete your user profile and your subscription record from our backend, and we request deletion of your authentication account at Clerk. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal, accounting, or security obligations (for example, records of purchases held by Apple or RevenueCat), and backups may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
8. How to delete your account and data
Note: deleting the App from your device does not delete your account. To stop a paid subscription, you must also cancel it through your Apple App Store subscription settings (deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription) — see our Terms of Service.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.
- Türkiye (KVKK): you have the rights granted under the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698.
- European Economic Area / UK (GDPR): you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Data security
We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) between the App and our backend and providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.
11. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country, if higher) to use the App. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
12. Health disclaimer
Bulky AI provides general nutrition and fitness tracking and estimates for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance from a doctor or registered dietitian. The App is not intended for the diagnosis or treatment of any condition, including eating disorders. Consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet. See the full disclaimer in our Terms of Service.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
